THE GUITAR :
Was built for John by Andy Manson,
one of Britain's foremost luthiers. The extra string is a
bottom A, extending the range, and adding a richness of sound
colour.
The new guitar gave rise to a desire to explore how much can
be communicated without text, and John has subsequently written
a complete repertoire of instrumental 7-string guitar music.
He performs this either as a pure instumental concert, or
interspersed with his own songs, adapting the repertoire to
each context.
The concert can be given without a
sound system in a living room or a small hall (up to 50 people)
for a more intimate feel, or with sound for a full-scale concert
in a large hall.
COST :
For tours outside France the concert would need to be organised
in the context of a full tour and fees agreed accordingly
to cover flight and accommodation.
